New Year Aspirations for 2012

2011 was a great year all in all. I was able to accomplish many things and it was a year of "personal peace". Even though I have had my share of trials I felt that I was prepared to meet those trials and get through them with more grace and courage than I ever have in my life. Does this mean, I am a grown- up? I will be celebrating my 40th Birthday on March 1st, so I think it is about time I started acting a bit more mature in the face of adversity. We will see...

Some of the big events were: FINALLY, getting into a home up here in Salt Lake and that has given me a sense of stability that I so greatly appreciate. I took a math class that I have been putting off for 17 years so I could finally get my Bachelor's degree. (this story does not have the ending I had hoped for, but I will share that with you in a future blog post) And I reached an aspiration I had set from 2 years ago by auditioning for and (this time) getting into a summer stock theater season at The Old Lyric Rep. I am also pursuing my dream in becoming an SLS Vocal Instructor and am in the "pre-certification" phase of my training. I will start teaching students out of my home in a couple weeks and it has been so amazing to set up a studio and share something I am so passionate about.

Here is a partial list of my aspirations for 2012:

~ Keep a Scripture Journal
~ Continue to make exercise part of my daily routine (it is about Health, not "dieting")
~ Make Vegetarian Meals for Dinner 2 - 3 times a week
~ Develop Family Chore Chart/Involve Kids in not only Clean Up but Cooking as well.
~ Continue to Sing every day and Practice Scales on Piano every day
~ Stick to Business Plan for SLS
~ Record in a Studio again. This time doing at least one original song
~ Pick up the Guitar again and have "jam sessions" with Roger
~ Continue Asking for Help when I need it
~ Be mindful not only of Serving my Immediate Family but Extended Family & Friends
~ Do at least one Vocal Recital and one Fireside

Happy New Year!!
